FC Barcelona fielded an under strength side against AIK Stockholm and still hit five goals.

The Spanish champions secured their place in the last sixteen a week ago and used this tie and probably next week's trip to Fiorentina to rest some of their stars.

Barca did what they wanted in this game as the Swede's defensive resolve in Group B had been destroyed long before they reached a half full Camp Nou.

Patrick Kluivert was the inspiration after early pressure saw him find space in the 14th minute for an excellent flick finish from a cross by Simao Sabrosa and he followed up with a shot on the turn at the near post in the 32nd minute after another cross from the Portuguese youngster to end the game as a serious contest.

Barca then hit their sixteenth goal of the section when Frederic Dehu scored with a low drive in the 56th minute to set up a quiet last half hour as Barca relaxed and concentrated on their passing game.

Earlier Boudewijn Zenden and Gabri had added more goals from shots on the run.
