Spartak Moscow had two players sent off as they recovered to earn a 1-1 draw in this home tie against Sparta Prague.

The Muscovites protests after the game were long and loud as Swedish referee Karl-Erik Nilsson dismissed two of the home team. Defender Yuri Koftun was sent off for a second booking in the 68th minute while Brazilian striker Luis Robson was dismissed for elbowing seven minutes from time.

By then the Moscow team had drawn level when a loose ball in the penalty area was driven into the net by Artem Bezrodnyi.

The Czech side had taken the lead when Vratislav Lovkenc jumped to head in a floated corner in the 16th minute.
