PSV Eindhoven 0 Glasgow Rangers 1

First Published: Sep 29, 1999

Glasgow Rangers left it until the 84th minute to find a winner in this tight match but the victory establishes the Scottish champions as definite contenders to reach the next stage with two home matches still to play at Ibrox Park.

A poor first half was eclipsed by the excellent finish to the game from the Glasgow club who needed substitute Jorge Albertz to hit the winning goal after coming on as a substitute.

German international Albertz was dropped after scoring a goal last week that almost saw the Scots beat Rangers but he ran onto a shot from Michael Mols to launch a drive into the middle of the net from the edge of the penalty area.
