Russia needed a piece of magic from substitute Maxim Buznikin to overcome Israel in Moscow.

Buznikin played from the start of the second half and weaved a way through four defenders in the 83rd minute before hitting a low finish.

It was the only real time that the Israeli defence gave way and Russia could find no way to match the Middle Eastern team's 4-1 hammering of them last year.
