Cameroon 3 Tunisia 0

Cameroon continued their impressive form in the African Nations Cup to sweep away the challenge of Tunisia and set up a Lagos final on Sunday against co-hosts Nigeria.

Cagliari striker Patrick Mboma hit two goals in a comfortable 3-0 win as Tunisia found themselves too expended to cope with the hard running power game of Cameroon after their good run in the competition.

Tunisia knocked out holders Egypt and their demise in Accra sets up a third meeting between Cameroon and Nigeria in the final of this competition.

Cameroon last reached the final in 1988 but their progress looked in doubt as Tunisia made a good start to the game. Cameroon goalkeeper Boukar Alioum needed all his agility to parry two headers from Adel Sellimi in the opening twenty minutes of the semi final and the Tunisian game plan of quiet defence kept their opponents in check until half time.

Mboma broke the through four minutes after the interval with an angled shot on the turn after Tunisia made their first defensive error of the game and allowed the ball to drop into space.

The game remained close until the final ten minutes when Cameroon secured the victory.

Mboma slanted a pass through to Real Madrid striker Samuel Eto'o and he carried the ball forward and struck a high shot into the left hand corner of the net.

An 88th minute close range finish from Mboma settled the game as Tunisia made late efforts to try and mount attacks but Cameroon were safe.
