Match Abandoned after 87 minutes and awarded to Peru
A highly entertaining game was ended by the farcical sight of Honduras fans invading the Miami pitch to see the match abandoned with three minutes remaining.
Peru were awarded a 5-3 win as Honduras fans poured onto the Orange Bowl field to fight with police as two of their team were sent off.
Missiles rained onto the pitch after Carlos Pavon and Milton Reyes were red carded by referee Mario Sanchez of Chile and this was followed up by the pitch invasion. Pavon was sent off after a goal was disallowed as he kicked the bal away in anger and Reyes was dismissed for dissent.
Honduras now face a fine and possible ban after nearly forty arrests were made.
The game itself was dominated by Peru's young side who led 4-1 with goals from Del Solar and Palacios before a Pavon penalty and a low drive from Jose Pineda made for a thrilling finish.
The last action made the score 5-3 for Peru as Waldir Saez scored from close range before the Honduras fans ended with game.
