Gold Cup - Canada 1 Trinidad and Tobago 0

West Ham goalkeeper Craig Forrest helped Canada to reach the CONCACAF Gold Cup final with an excellent penalty save.

The save was the turning point of the Los Angeles semi final and sets up Canada for the win that sees them take on Colombia in the tournament final on Sunday.

David Nakhid took the 36th minute penalty after Mark Watson had felled Jerren Nixon in the penalty area. Nakhid's penalty technique was exposed as he paused on his run up but Forrest concentrated and read through the gimmick to palm away the under hit shot.

Carlo Corrazin set up the only goal of the game when he headed a cross into the path of defender Watson who looped in a 68th minute header to settle the game. Forrest reached a personal milestone in the game and is now equal with Canada's most capped goalkeeper Paul Dolan with 51 appearances. The Premiership player is set to break that record on Sunday night in the final.
