Colombia found it easy to beat Venezuela in Bogota and registered their first win of the 20002 World Cup qualifying campaign.

Alex Viveros scored with a long range shot in the 28th minute and Jairo Castillo won a penalty which Internazionale defender Ivan Cordoba converted with a low shot.

Colombia now have five points from three matches after dominating this game but needed substitute Rene Valenciano to add gloss to the victory with a close range shot in the 88th minute.
