FC Barcelona ended Sparta Prague's hopes of progress into the last eight with two second half goals from Gabri.

Sparta needed to win to stand any chance of making the next phase and they took the lead in the 18th minute when Zdenek Svoboda side footed a shot into the net from outside the penalty area.

Barca are unbeaten in the competition so far and were level in the 52nd minute when Gabri followed in a loose ball to the left edge of the penalty area and drove a low shot into the far corner.

Ruud Hesp felled Vratislav Lokvenc to concede a penalty but Pavel Hapal hit his shot in a casual manner allowing Hesp to dive and save low to his left.

22 year old Gabri sealed the win when he turned and shot from the edge of the penalty area for a clinical finish.
