Spartak Moscow needed an own goal to defeat a second string Real Madrid team.

Real midfielder Geremi Ndjitap produced the crucial touch in the 47th minute when he accidentally steered a snap shot by Spartak midfielder Yegor Titov past reserve team goalkeeper Cesar into the net.

Spartak won their fifth Russian championship in a row last week and were rarely threatened by the visitors as both teams settled for a mild game. Both teams ensured their qualification into the last sixteen weeks ago.
