Paraguay ran away with this game in Asuncion to hit five goals against Peru.

The visitors hit the post twice and had a goal disallowed but they shipped three goals at the other end to Paraguay.
Dario Muchotrigo found space to hit the post with an eighth minute drive and Roberto Palacios scored from the rebound only to be ruled offside.
Bayern Munich star Roque Santa Cruz hit back by getting Paraguay's first goal in the 15th minute by hitting the target from close range but he was played onside by injured defender Juan Pajuelo who was lying on the ground allowing Santa Cruz to get clear. Pajuelo was unable to continue.
Peru goalkeeper Oscar Ibanez created the second goal for Paraguay by spilling a cross onto the feet of Jose Del Solar who tapped in an own goal.
Del Solar hit the post from a header at a corner kick three minutes later.
Jose Chilavert created a goal from a free kick in the 44th minute by finding Jose Cardoza unmarked and he controlled the ball and sent it into the net.
A Carlos Paredas header gave the home team their fourth goal in the 65th minute and Chilavert converted a penalty to reach five goals on the night.
