SS Lazio were defeated and all but disgraced at Anderlecht after Dejan Stankovic was red carded in the final minute for stamp on Bart Goor.
Seven yellow cards in a scrappy match preceded Stankovic's assault on the Belgian international left winger. The Lazio player made a premeditated attack on Goor with his boot and is now facing a long ban from UEFA after the referee's report and television evidence.
By this stage Lazio were in disarray after an 85th minute winner for Anderlecht.
A tight game was heading for a draw when Canadian Tomasz Radzinski scored his fifth goal of the competition. Besnik Hasi put him clear for the striker to hit a hard and low drive under Angelo Peruzzi's dive into the far corner of the net.
Lazio were missing Veron, Claudio Lopez and Hernan Crespo with injuries and questions can now be asked about the strength of their squad and the rising tension between owner's son Massimo Cragnotti and England-bound coach Sven Goran Eriksson. Cragnotti criticised Eriksson's team selection after their draw with Milan last weekend and the Swede is not pleased.
The home team dominated this game but could not finish well enough to put the game beyond Lazio.
Sinisa Mihajlovic hit the cross bar with a 29th minute free kick from a long way out but Inzaghi and Salas struggled to make any impression.
