Olympique Lyon are still chasing a place in the second stage of the Champions League with this convincing win in Holland.

The French side must travel to Athens in November and try to beat Olympiakos but they have some hope now after substitute Steed Malbranque scored with an angled shot in the 68th minute as Heerenveen's pressure game gave way to the better passing of Lyon. Steve Marlet sealed the win in the 78th minute with a close range finish.
