Paris St Germain beat Helsingborg 4-1 in the French capital but needed late goals to overcome the Swedes.

Nicolas Anelka put the French team into the lead when when he drove in a low shot from the edge of the penalty area in the 24th minute but Rosenborg were back in the game in the dying seconds of the first period when Bjorn Johansen was put clear by Brazilian striker Alvaro Santos for a neat finish.

Parity remained for the opening spell of the second half until Laurent Robert hit a great drive in the 63rd minute less than two minutes after he had hit the cross bar with a cross shot.

Christian headed in from an 80th minute corner and El Karkouri struck in a 20 metre free kick in the last minute to add gloss to the scoreline.
