2002 World Cup - Slovenia 1 Yugoslavia 1

First Published: Mar 28, 2001

A last minute free kick from Zlatko Zahovic dismayed Yugoslavia in injury time to save a draw for Slovenia.

The first half was quiet but after 32 minutes Savo Milosevic put Yugoslavia ahead from close range. But Milosevic and Slovenian defender Aleksander Knavs were concussed later in the half. Both were taken to hospital overnight for observation, but doctors said there was no fear of any serious injury for either player.

Zahovic stole the game and a point for the home team with a swerving shot from twenty five metres.
