All the goals came in the second half with Steven Bryce opening the game up in the 46th minute with a cross shot before Wanchope replaced 1990 World Cup veteran Hernan Medford in the 60th minute. He scored two goals from close range in the last ten minutes to seal the win and put Costa Rico in second place in the CONCACAF qualifying group with four points from two games but they have started with two home matches.
