Oman took the lead in the 22nd minute when Taqi Moubarak met a cross and Hani Dhabet made it 2-0 just before half time from close range. Abdulrahman Ibrahim hit a low drive in the 42nd minute to give the UAE something to chase and substitute Bachir Said crossed for Mohammed Omar to equalise on the hour mark.
