A hard fought 2-2 draw in Oman allowed the United Arab Emirates to take the play-off place available in Group B from Uzbekistan who defeated China 1-0 in Tashkent.

The UAE were 2-0 down at half time but came back to draw and take the play-off place to face either Iran in Saudi Arabia with 11 points from their eight matches just one point ahead of the Uzbeks.

Oman took the lead in the 22nd minute when Taqi Moubarak met a cross and Hani Dhabet made it 2-0 just before half time from close range.

Abdulrahman Ibrahim hit a low drive in the 42nd minute to give the UAE something to chase and substitute Bachir Said crossed for Mohammed Omar to equalise on the hour mark.

Group A concludes tomorrow with Iran playing Bahrain in Manama taking a 1 point lead into the last match as Saudi Arabia host Thailand in Ritadh.
