More than 200 protesters were arrested before Denmark defeated Israel.

The lead up to the game had seen bomb threats aganst the stadium made to the Danish media and three thousand police were on duty at the ground to clash with anti-Israeli demonstrators.

Clashes in the stadium saw some protestors try to reach the pitch by breaking down perimeter fencing and two did reach the field to wave flags midway through the first half.

Jan Heintze opened the scoring after just three minutes when he rounded the goalkeeper to slide the ball in and Feyenoord striker Jon Dahl Tomasson added the second 10 minutes later with a low drive from the edge of the penalty area.

Dennis Rommedahl added the third in the 36th minute with a side-fot finish from distance after a corner had been played out to him on the left wing.

Denmark dominated throughout but Avi Nimny scored a late consolation goal with the Danish FA refunding ticket money for 6,000 fans who were deterred from attending by the threat of violence.
