A late goal from hosts Mali saw them scrape a draw against Liberia as the African Nations Cup got underway.
A 45th minute header from veteran George Weah gave Liberia the lead in the Group A game but Seydou Keita hit a low drive in the 87th minute to equalise.
Weah used all his experience to get free from marking at a corner in first half stoppage time which Oliver Makor swung away from goal to bring out 'keeper Mahamadou Sidibe but he dropped the ball and Weah knocked the chance in with his head.
The striker is also the Liberian team coach and he gave the order for his side to protect that lead after a scruffy first half.
Liberia created no chances in the second session and were forced to defend but they could not hold out as Keita created space for his low shot to thrill the home fans at the March 26th stadium.
