A late goal from Algeria held Liberia to a 2-2 draw in the best African Nations Cup game so far.
Nasreddine Kraouche's excellent inury-time goal to keep his side in the competition.
Kraouche made space for himself when there seemed little danger to Liberia's slim lead and crashed a soaring drive past goalkeeper Louis Crayton.
Algeria must now beat hosts Mali on Monday in the final Group A match to reach the last eight but at least they have given themselves hope.
Liberia will now need to beat Nigeria in Mopti though and this draw was a setback for them.
Midfielder Kelvin Sebwe gave Liberia the lead midway through the second half when their opponents were on top.George Weah crossed for striker Prince Daye who turned the ball back for Sebwe to angle a drive low into the net from outside the penalty area.
Daye had given his side a first half lead when he diverted in a low cross from close range but substitute Nassim Akrour challenged Liberia goalkeeper Louis Craytonto knock a cross into the goal after earlier hitting the cross bar with a more clear cut chance.
