Gold Cup - Canada 1 Martinique 1 - Canada win 7-6 on penalties

Holders Canada were forced into a penalty shootout by Martinique to reach the semi finals of the Gold Cup.

A 1-1 draw and then extra time could not find a winer until the Canadians clinched with game 7-6 in the shootout.

Martinique even took the lead in the second half when defender Mark Rogers scored an own goal.

But Canada striker Kevin McKenna responded by becoming the leading scorer of the Gold Cup when he headed a Richard Hastings cross for his third strike of the tournament in the 71st minute.

Martinique scored their first four penalties and led 4-3 until missing two spot kicks allowing Jason Bent to hit the winner.
