Substitute Isaac Boakye hit two goals in the last minute to push Ghana into the African Nations Cup quarter finals.
Boakye led a do-or-die fightback in the final few seconds to overhaul Burkina Faso's narrow lead.
Burkina Faso thought they had won the game in the 81st minute when a curling free kick from Amadou Toure put them into a qualifying position in Group B,.
But it was not to be as Boakye bundled in an equaliser in the 89th minute.
The draw would have put Morocco into the last eight despite their 3-1 defeat by South Africa but Boakye still had more to do and clinched the win when he allowed a long and hopeful punt upfield to drop into his run and he drove the ball wide of goalkeeper Mohamed Kabore to spark a massive celebration by the Ghana squad.
Ghana now play favourites Nigeria on Sunday.
