Lyon turn cold on Halilhodzic as coach (May 21, 2002)

French champions Olimpique Lyon have cancelled plans to bring in Vahid Halilihodzic as their coach.

Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas was due to meet former Lille Halilhodzic last night but axed his plans by telephoning the Bosnian and approaching former Rennes coach Paul Guen who should be confirmed as new Lyon boss lkater this week.

Halilhodzic quit Lille earlier this month and was strongly touted to be new Olympiakos coach until his move to Greece also fell through. . . . more . . .
