Liverpool are to complete the signing of German international Christian Ziege today.
Middlesbrough have confirmed the £5.5 million sale of the left sided player after Ziege revealed on his website that he had a German court order to enforce his contract with 'Boro.
Ziege wanted to push through a move to Liverpool by getting 'Boro to accept the £5.5 million valuation in his buy out clause. 'Boro wanted to sell Ziege for £8 million to Cheslea but the player had already agreed personal tersm with Liverpool.
The 28 year old helped Bayern Munich to win the 1996 UEFA Cupo but moved to AC Milan when his pay deamdns were not met by the German club.
His time in Italy saw him lose his place in the Milan and Germany teams and Middlesbrough spent £4 million to bring him to the Premiership last summer where he has proved a big success.
