Brazilian defender Edmilson will be playing for Olympique Lyon next week after Sao Paolo accepted a £7 million offer made by the French side.
Edmilson, who was recently capped for the first time in the incredible Brazilian victory over Argentina, has signed a five year contract with Lyon writes Rafael Salido.
Lyon where struggling to strengthen the defence since the beginning of the season and were linked with offers to Frank Leboeuf and Frederic Dehu, who has finally signed for PSG. Now they have signed the kind of player they were looking for - a secure and strong centre back.
Edmilson - real name Jose Gomes Moraes - was wanted by Arsenal in May but his proposed transfer to the London club collapsed amid doubts over the validity of his passport to travel from Brazil to Europe. Lyon have decided to sign the player despite worries over his documentation.
