Cameroon dominates the nominations for African Player of the Year with Parma AC striker Patrick Mboma the favourite to win the award.
The West Africans won the African Nations Cup in February and the Olympic title. Mboma played in both winning teams and was one of the over-age stars allowed at the under-23 Olympic event. Roger Milla won the award in 1990 for Cameroon.
