SS Napoli buy River Plate star Angel

SS Napoli have signed River Plate striker Juan Pablo Angel for £12 million.

The struggling Serie A club will complete the transfer when the Italian transfer season opens next week but the Colombian international has agreed the transfer with Napoli director Carrado Ferlaino and his agent Gustavo Mascardi.

Angel has been a target for Italian clubs for the past year since becoming the Buenos Aires club's top scorer.

Napoli have also been linked with a move for Boca Juniors star Martin Palermo but do not want to pay the £15 million asking price after Boca rejected a £9 million bid.
