Juventus signal interest in Cannavaro

First Published: Dec 08, 2000

Juventus have joined the group of clubs wanting to lure Italian international defender Fabio Cannavaro from Parma AC.

The Turin club have offered £14 million plus Uruguayan defender Paolo Montero to Parma after Real Madrid revealed earlier in the week that they were in talks with Parma and Cannavaro's agent to seal a £20 million move next summer.

Montero is a first choice centre back for Juve but he was suspended for three matches on Monday after he punched Luigi Di Biaggio in the 2-2 draw at Inter last Sunday.
