Pastoriza quits as Venezuela coach

First Published: Nov 24, 2000

Venezuela coach Omar Pastoriza has quit after his side sank to the bottom of the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying table.

The Venzuelans lost 6-0 to Brazil in October and were beaten 2-1 at home by Ecuador and have only three points from ten matches so far.

The football federation will now search for a new coach to take on a thankless task with Venezuela due in Buenos Aires to play Argentina who lead the group next year.
