2002 World Cup tickets to go on sale in February

Tickets for the 2002 World Cup finals will be on sale from February 15th next year.

Organisers FIFA have confirmed the sale of tickets which will be through national federations for the 32 team event with the initial batch of tickets being distributed equally among the members of FIFA. Hosts France in 1998 took up 60% of the initial allocation leading to a flourishing black market in sales as many well supported teams did not have enough tickets to meet demand.

The finals start on May 31st 2002 in Seoul and finish on June 30th in Yokohama.
