New Nigeria coach Amodu Shaibu's return to the national team will not last long say the NFA.
Shaibu succeeds Dutch coach Jo Bonfrere who was fired on Thursday after a poor World Cup qualifying results.
After Bonfrere's sacking, the NFA said his assistants Shaibu and Stephen Keshi, a former coach of the under-20s team, along with former international Joe Erico would be in charge for the World Cup qualifying matches to come starting with next Saturday's game against Liberia in Lagos.
Liberia lead the group with 12 points from Sudan who have nine points with Nigeria third on seven points after the 1-0 defeat in Freetown to Sierra Leone that saw Bonfrere sacked.
With one team to qualify it looks unlikely that Nigeria can recover from early set backs and several of their top stars are again unhappy about the set up of the national team.
