50-goal Larsson rules Glasgow

First Published: Apr 29, 2001

Glasgow Celtic emphasised the hold they now have over the SPL and Scottish football to their first win at Ibrox since 1994 with Henrik Larsson hitting his 50th goal of the season so far.

Celtic won the title weeks ago but Rangers have won 11 of the last thirteen titles in the SPL and had hoped to try and gain some respect for their season with a win at home.

But Celtic were on form again to hit three second half goals to add to their fans' title celebrations which are still going on.

Larsson scored his 50th goal of a remarkable season with three minutes to go after rounding the defence to slide the ball in.

Two earlier goals for Slovak international Lubomir Moravcik had sealed the win by the 74th minute and Celtic chase their first domestic treble since 1969 at the end of May in the Scottish Cup final against Hibernian of Edinburgh.
