Brazil coach Luis Felipe Scolari has named the squad to face local rivals Argentina in a game next week which will help to decide Brazil's World Cup fate.
Defeats for close rivals Uruguay and Colombia and a win over Paraguay earlier this month means Brazil are back on course to take one of the four automatic qualifying places for Japan and Korea next summer but they need to avoid defeat against Argentina who have already qualified.
Argentine coach Marcelo Bielsa has already decided to rest veteran striker Gabriel Batistuta and midfield play maker Juan Sebastian Veron as the game means little now to the Argentines other than a test against their traditional rivals.
Vasca da Gama star Juninho is dropped by Scolari in favour of Cruzeiro's Alex while Vampeta takes the place of injured AS Roma ball-winner Emerson in midfield.
Romario is currently injured and not in contention for the squad.
