Juventus have failed in their latest attempt to sign Perugia play maker Fabio Liverani.
The Italian international has been tracked for the entire year by Juve who were keen to sign him ahead of today's player registration deadline for the Champions League but Perugia do not want to sell.
So far this summer Perugia have refused both cash and swap deals for the Italian international who is expected to start for Italy tomorrow against Lithuania as they try to seal qualification for the 2002 World Cup finals.
Perugia executive Alessandro Gaucci said last night:
"Juventus have never shown any conviction in wanting to buy Liverani and no deal will go through today. Perugia do sell players but we don’t give them away."
