Borussia Dortmund have signed SC Freiburg and Germany midfielder Sebastian Kehl ahead of champions Bayern Munich.
Bayern lambasted Kehl and his agent last week and claimed the pair lied to them during transfer discussions.
Kehl has now opted for Dortmund:
"After much deliberation, I have decided for sporting reasons that I will transfer to Borussia Dortmund next year", the 21-year-old said.
Kehl could now move next month during the winter break to the Ruhr valley club but Freiburg may still keep him until June.
Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc said:
"Before the beginning of next week we will know whether we will have Kehl available for us in time for the restart of the season. Naturally, we would like to have Sebastian available to us as soon as possible, even though that would mean we would have to pay more than the agreed upon $2 million".
