Bayern land Ballack for next season

Bayern Munich have signed German international midfielder Michael Ballack.

The attacking midfielder scored twice as Germany defeated Ukraine in November play-offs to reach the World Cup finals and had interest from Arsenal and FC Barcelona.

The 25 year old has cost German champions Bayern $12.7 million and has a contract to 2006.

Ballack will move in June to Bayern after the fee was agreed last night.
