No South Korean World Cup tickets will be used to meet extra demand in Japan and China despite poor ticket sales for the World Cup co-hosts.
The Korean World Cup Organising Committee says 150,000 tickets are unsold to domestic fans who have failed to match the demand for tickets to next May's finals shown by co-hosts Japan and China.
"All the tickets allocated for domestic sale will be sold in Korea now that ticket sales have picked up sharply since the final draw," the committee said in a statement today.
Of 1.46 million tickets for the 32 matches in South Korea, 732,779 are for Korean fans and 736,698 are for overseas sales.
Sales for matches that do not feature the Korean national team have been poor but the opening game between holders France and debutantes Senegal in Seoul on May 31st has sold out.
