Italy and England to play in March

First Published: Dec 29, 2001

Italy say they will play England in March as part of their 2002 World Cup preparations.

The March 27th friendly for Giovanni Trapattoni's team will take place at Leeds United's Elland Road ground.

England are waiting to confirm friendlies with Paraguay and Cameroon before the World Cup finals and have already agreed to play Holland in Amsterdam in February.

England lost 1-0 in Turin in November 2000 with Steve McClaren - Middlesbrough and current England assistant coach - and Peter Taylor in charge.
