FC Barcelona are preparing a star clearout this summer with Dutch striker Patrick Kluivert to be off loaded.
Kluivert and Richard Dutruel have announced that they are currently thinking about leaving the Catalan giants when the season ends writes Rafeal Salido. They are not happy with their situation in the squad and so would be keen to look for another team to play for.
After an appalling start to the season, French goalkeeper Richard Dutruel was injured and since then he has had to see young Reyna playing in goal. The Frenchman arrived from Celta Vigo last year, knowing that none of the other goalies (Ruud Hesp, Vitor Baia and Francesc Arnau) was to have any chance with new coach Lorenzo Serra Ferrer. However the team's bad results and Dutruel's injury forced the coach to give Reyna a chance and since then Barcelona have hardly lost.
Kluivert's case is different, as he is a regular in the first team. His problem is his relationship with Serra Ferrer. He is not happy having to play as ultimate goalscorer as he prefers playing a bit behind a front man providing good chances for another striker. Ferrer's system has forced him to use the former Ajax and AC Milan forward as first choice for that position.
However, both of them have a contract with Barca to run so whether they leave or they stay it would finally be Ferrer's decision, no matter if he is coach or the new club's Sport Manager next season.
Kluivert is already keen to move to the Premiership with Arsenal considering a swap with Kanu but other English clubs - Tottenham and Newcastle - are interested in Kluivert. Barcelona will look for a high price but with new signings Saviola and Juan Riquelme already set to join them in the summer they can afford to dump Kluivert.
