Boca Juniors captain Bermudez on way to Besiktas

Besiktas are close to signing Boca Juniors captain Jorge Bermudez.

Boca's continuing financial problems means the Argentine apertura champions are accepting offers to break up the squad which won three major titles last year and the Istanbul club have had a £2 million offer accepted for the 30 year old.

Besiktas have negotiated to pay £1.5 million now with £500,000 to follow and Boca agents have arrived in Turkey to finalise the deal from their side. The international defender has been an outstanding leader for Boca and he commands their defence and also contributes in midfield to tackling and passing.
