Olympique Marseille are to buy Yugoslav midfielder Jovan Stankovic despite the reluctance of the player to leave Real Mallorca.
Stankovic has gone to the press to explain his unhappiness at the Liga club's intentions to sell him to OM and said he was "very unhappy" and "really annoyed" with the move which is due to be completed today.
"I want the fans to know that I have been forced to leave" he told Mallorca newspaper 'El Mundo' but the Yugoslav international is in Marseille today to finalise the transfer with a three year contract on offer with OM.
The French club are willing to pay £4.5 million to the Balearic club for the former Red Star Belgrade player who joined Malllorca in 1996. The Real board were not prepared to refuse such an offer and talks started at the weekend.
