Beschastnykh goes back to Spartak Moscow

Russian champions Spartak Moscow have brought striker Vladimir Beschastnykh back to the club.

Beschastnykh has quit Racing Santander after his contract ended earlier this month and he now has an eighteen month deal in Moscow.

The 27 year old achieved notoriety last season for saying he wished Santander would lose matches in Spain's Liga to damage coach Gustavo Benitez as he feuded with the team boss. Benitez was sacked at the start of the year but Beschastnykh was not recalled to the team despoite Racing's relegation.

Beschastnykh was a young star with Spartak as his first club before moving to Werder Bremen nine years ago.
