Finland star Jari Litmanen has broken his wrist and will miss the next six weeks of the season.
The Liverpool star was injured in a 2-1 defeat at Anfield on Saturday against England and he will now only feature in the final matches of the season for the Premiership club.
Litmanen will miss both legs of the UEFA Cup semi final against his former club FC Barcelona, the FA Cup semi final against Wycombe Wanderers and league games against Manchester United at home on Saturday morning, Leeds United and Everton.
The wrist break will need at least until the end of April to heal but Litmanen may be able to train and run lightly with the injury meaning he could be fit to return in early May with both the UEFA Cup and FA Cup finals a possible climax to the campaign.
