Arsenal to sign Nino Gomes

Arsenal are set to sign Portuguese international Nuno Gomes next month.

Fiorentina are ready to sell Gomes for £7 million to help ease their financial problems and Benfica - who led the chase to sign the player - have admitted that Arsenal are the new favourites to sign the 25 year old.

Arsenal want to create a more attacking midfield with summer signing Giovanni van Bronckhorst struggling badly and Gomes is seen as the creative player to help support their attack.
