SS Lazio are ready to bid again for Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler if Leeds United step in to try and sign the England international.
Fowler is ready to leave Anfield rather than sign a new contract with the Premiership leaders and the Rome club see the forward as one of their top transfer targets.
Leeds have already failed with a £12 million bid for Fowler earlier this year with Chelsea also bidding for the 27 year old but Lazio are prepared to pay £12 million for Fowler with his current transfer price around £10 million for Leeds.
The Rome club are likely to sell Hernan Crespo to Juventus in the summer and need a new striker with Fowler and his Liverpool team mate Michael owne loing term objectives for the Lazio owner Sergio Cragnotti.
Lazio are also ready to sell Yugoslav striker Darko Kovacevic back to Real Sociedad to help fund the move for Fowler but Leeds are favourites to sign Fowler.
Arsenal, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Blackburn would also like Fowler and Liverpool are looking at signing Manchester United reject Dwight Yorke as his replacement.
