FC Porto go back in for Gomes

FC Porto have come back in for Fiorentina striker Nuno Gomes.

The Portuguese international was a finisher when playing for Lisbon giants Benfica before his move to Italy in 2000.

The player has been linked with a mov away from Florence particularly after financial problems for the Serie A club which saw them avoid bankruptcy in December and the club are now up for sale.

Porto tried to sign Gomes in August but no deal could be done.

Fiorentina signed striker Maurizio Ganz yesterday and are in talks to sign Cagliari's Jason Mayele and Gomes could be sld in December if Porto are preapared to pay $9 million.
