Ecuador striker Agustin Delgado is to join Premiership strugglers Southampton.
The player's Mexican club Necaxa says the deal is to go through next month when Delgado travels to England to complete medical checks which includes the Premiership club paying for knee surgery the striker needs.
Delgado was linked with Italian clubs in the summer after helping Ecuador to the brink of their first ever World Cup qualification.
The 26 year old is to join the Ecuadorwhich plays Uruguay on November 8th and then go for surgery. Delgado was in the UK last week say Necaxa where the knee problem was revealed. His new club have cleared Delgado to play for Ecuador next week.
