Gaspart: Rivaldo stays at Barcelona

First Published: Oct 29, 2001

FC Barcelona president Joan Gaspart says the Catalan club are not looking for offers for their top scorer Rivaldo.

SS Lazio and Juventus have been linked with renewed interest in the Brazilian in the past two weeks but Gaspart has denied there is to be any transfer.

Gaspart says he is "calm" over the latest reports from Italy and says Rivaldo has more than four years left on his contract at Barca. Two weeks ago he scored his 100th goal for the club.

"I don't want any offers for him," said Gaspart today after rumours that Barca would cash in on the 29 year old Brazilian to land Boca Juniors play maker Juan Riquelme next year.
