Shevchenko named in Ukraine's World Cup squad
First Published: Oct 31, 2001Ukraine coach Valery Lobanovsky has named his squad to play Germany next month in two 2002 World Cup play-offs.
Ukraine meet the Germans on November 10th and 14th to decide on a place at the World Cup finals which Ukraine have never previously qualified for.
Star striker Andriy Shevchenko is recovering from nasal surgery after breaking his nose in a Serie A draw with Bologna on Sunday but he is expected to be fit to play.

Goalkeepers - Maxym Levitsky (Spartak Moscow), Vitaliy Reva (Kyiv Dynamo) and Mykola Medin (Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk).
Defenders - Vladyslav Vashchuk, Olexandr Holovko, Sergiy Fedorov, Andriy Nesmachny (Kyiv Dynamo), Oleg Luzhny (Arsenal), Viktor Skrypnyk (Werder Bremen) and Sergiy Zadorozhny (Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk).
