Slovenia chase World Cup place
First Published: Sep 28, 2001Slovenia have named their World Cup squad to try and catch Russia.
Russia lead group one but Sloventia can still catch them if they beat Faroe Islands on October 6th.

Defenders - Aleksander Knavs (Kaiserslautern), Spasoje Bulajic (Cologne), Marinko Galic (Velenje), Zeljko Milinovic (Jef United, Japan) and Muamer Vugdalic (Shakhtar Donetsk)
Midfielders - Nastja Ceh (Club Bruges), Sasa Gajser (Gent), Amir Karic (Ipswich Town), Dzoni Novak (Unterhaching), Zoran Pavlovic (Austria Memphis), Zlatko Zahovic (Benfica), Anton Zlogar (Olimpija Ljubljana) and Rajko Tavcar (Nuremberg).
Strikers - Sebastijan Cimirotic (Lecce), Milan Osterc (Hapoel Tel-Aviv) and Mladen Rudonja (Portsmouth).
